Netflix recently has been doing really well in the original movie category lately. Netflix has been blessed with some really talented writers and actors when it comes to bringing beloved books to the screen. They carefully cast in most of their productions to unsure their fans keep watching. Key word MOST. This movie did have a very interesting concept that the writer's could have done a lot with and had some very talented young actors. But they pulled a lot of predictable moves in this movie. The typical mean girl takes the old nerdy best friend back under her wing only to take everything away from her in the end but Oh wait! we can't let the underdog not win. What this movies does bring to light is how much social media effects everyone's social life. There is so much pressure on teens to update everyone on their life and the ones with the most interesting life and the most followers ends up being the most popular as well. Society is not about how many likes you can get on a post about your cat's sister's kittens it's about the exciting risks you can take. You don't need to post anything for it to be valid but this movie also sheds light on how events become big only through social media. Social media has it's pro's and con's but this movie even though it wasn't Netflix's best movie. It wasn't horrible.
