Coco

So with thanksgiving happening this week. I spent time with some of the children in my family. They forced me to watch Coco about 5 times in the span of two days. So that's why i'm reviewing it. So Coco if you didn't know is one of Disney's first films to feature a Hispanic main character. This movie is so crazy detailed thanks to Lee Unkrich,Jason Katz ,Matthew Aldrich,Adrian Molina. They spent time to animate every character and the amazing bridge that we see in the trailer and the start of the movie. The bridge is used to connect the living world with the land of the dead. Which is a land full of bright colors and music. Coco takes place on The Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico. traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars called ofrendas, honoring the deceased using calaveras, aztec marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed, and visiting graves with these as gifts. This movie does an amazing job of depicting these traditions. I think this movie would be a great tool to teach kids about the day of the dead. This movie does not only do a great job of depicting the traditions but also did amazing job writing the songs for this soundtrack. Remember Me almost brought a tear to my eyes. The songs were fun and full of dance. They were also beautifully sorrowful. This movie will be forever one of my favorites from Pixar.
