The King Of Halloween
Anyone who enjoys Halloween as much as me knows his movies. We can quote lines and sing the songs that bring our ghoulish charm out. I think this is going to be one of my favorite article to write. He captured our heart and made them black. Tim Burton the Halloween king! Okay, Yes i know Halloween is the one day a year where it is okay to scare people out of their shorts but it is also the one day where kids who shop at strictly Hot Topic feel at home. They are at their highest state because on that day it's not weird to sit in your jammies (yes jammies) and watch the beautiful world that is the mind of Tim Burton. So for this article i choose to talk about my top 10 Tim Burton films and wise.
10. Dark Shadows: i put this one at 10 because i think it at least has some pros but it also has cons. I think it has it's funny moments and the special effects are nice but it lacks a ensemble that works together. I think they are all talented on their own but together they seem mushed together. The movie definitely has potential that they could have used.
9. Alice Through The Looking Glass: I had such high hopes for this movie considering the first Alice In Wonderland was so good to the point that i would rather watch that then the cartoon. There was some good development for the characters but this time none of them seem to connect. We couldn't connect to them. The only one i did feel any connection to was Mad Hatter. I felt so much empathy and sympathy for him.
8. Frankenweenie was adorable and had a dark vibe about it. I mean it's about a boy who brings his dog back to life after he dies. 1. this kid is a freaking genius and i don't know how he doesn't tell his parents. i would have shown that off. This movie is adorable but i think it is just missing something. It doesn't give me the Tim Burton vibe i was hoping for. It gives me the Disney vibe.
7. Coraline: my problem with this movie is it is so different from the graphic novel. I think when you make a movie based off something you should go with the thing you are basing it on. The only thing i do like about his take is the other mother. When she transforms you can see why Coraline would be terrified it's her mother transforming into whatever monster this is.
6. Charlie and The Chocolate Factory: Personally this movie legit terrified me as a kid to the point i couldn't even look at a squirrel without thinking it might try and throw me into a fire pit. But it is a better representation on what the factory would actually be like plus the costumes and songs are really cool. You can tell someone put work into it.
5. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is one of my favorite musicals. I think the music is so romantic and suspenseful. You can easily follow what has happen and what is happening. I think it is a beauty to the musical movie community.
4. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. This one is a newer one but i enjoyed it. The actors really sold the characters. I read the book before hand. I could easily see the characters be depicted onto the screen. Plus the chemistry between the characters is so perfect. Such a cute movie!
3. Corpse Bride. This movie captures my heart every time i see it. The songs are what drive this movie into my heart because you tell in the songs Emily cares for Victor. You bond with someone who is a corpse which is crazy to think about. I think this movie is romantic and funny. i definitely will watch it forever.
2. Beetlejuice is a Tim Burton classic that i could not live without. While making this movie you can tell he put in so much detail and cared about this movie. Plus Micheal Keaton shows a different style to his acting. He tends to play serious characters but this time he choose to be outrageous. I applaud this movie!
1. Edward Scissorhands! My heart is totally invested in this movie. Edward is so kind and perfect even when he hurts people. He clearly feels guilt. This movie shows how we can love people who are different. Edward Scissorhands was released to positive feedback from critics, and was a financial success. The film received numerous nominations at the Academy Awards, British Academy Film Awards, and the Saturn Awards, as well as winning the Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation. I love this movie so much that i even went to where they filmed it. The house and everything. It was such a joy to experience that. Edward is definitely a masterpiece! GO WATCH IT!
I hope that you guys enjoyed seeing my views on these movies and i can't wait to hear what movies you guys love.
